So it's true, running 50km alone with no aid stations is tough, but can be made easier with a little planning and strategy - don't be put off! Big well done to the winner Felicity Pawling (Penny Lane Striders), Ralph Pawling very close behind (Pensby Runners), and Natasha Pearce claiming bronze (Mersey Tri).

Felicity Pawling of Penny Lane Striders wins outright with a raw time of 3h 19m! Rob Goodsell of Cerist Tri claims victory in the Height Gain Accumulator with a total of 3513m over the series.
The application of Talbot's Rule only threw up one point of interest in which Bradley Williams (North Endurance) pipped Ralph Pawling (Pensby Runners) into 2nd position. As ever, some stunning photos came in from the Welsh hills, thank you for sharing.
A big well done to all for taking part, there were several runners who completed their first full Marathon over the weekend. A marathon is never easy, and a great achievement for December 2020.
Now just before you retire with a bumper pack of mince pies, why not take on the Festive 50? It's free to enter!

The FIREBREAK 5K

The 5km distance seems so short and sweet, yet it is the one that leaves us most breathless.
Several sub-20 minute times, with ever-present Adrian Pearce taking a well-earned victory down in Swansea Bay. The unstoppable Felicity Pawling (Penny Lane Striders) was first lady (again), whilst Bob Persuader (Vegan Runners) continues his dominance of the height gain accumulator.
Rebecca Warren (Holyhead Runners) wins best Strava Art with a representation of a Corona virus; and special mention to John Williams for yet another stunning photo modelling his Running Tiers T-Shirt, this time on Aberdyfi beach.
Next up: Circuit Breaker Marathon, are you in? NB Talbot's Rule will be applied.

Many talking points from this weekend's Tier 3 Half Marathon, here's a brief summary:

Many talking points from this weekend's Tier 3 Half Marathon, here's a brief summary:
- Freya was our youngest racer (15 yrs) completing her first ever Half Marathon
- Bob Persuader, of Vegan Runners, ran a hill lap 20 times to claim most height gain (1421m)
- Bradley of North Endurance put in a late time on Sunday night to claim overall victory (1:23:59)
- John, Jon and Rob of Cerist Tri completed the actual Cadair X route (special mention to John for modelling the Running Tiers T-Shirt on the summit of Cadair Idris)
- Felicity of Penny Lane Striders continued her dominance in the female category (she also modelled the WESWIMRUN Jumper on the Wirral Way

TIER 2 - 10 Miles

Wow! That was some race weekend. Ralph & Felicity put down a bold marker early on, followed by a flood of speedy times from North Endurance athletes, and Adrian Pearce down in south Wales. Paul Martin, founder of North Endurance, claimed overall victory with 1hr 1m 12s. Ouch! Felicity Pawling (Penny Lane Striders) was once again the leading lady - can she be beaten?
The height gain battle was also edge of your seat entertainment, with the Cerist Tri crew dominating once again. Angela Edwards was the highest lady, with the veteran John Williams claiming the overall Kilian Jornet spot.
Thanks to all runners for taking part and motivating each other.
