The Eliminator Swimrun is coming back to Tal Y Llyn!
A stunning course in a beautiful part of Eryri - Snowdonia National Park, at the foot of Cadair Idris. The hamlet of Tal Y Llyn is nestled on the shores of Llyn Mwyngil, a must see glacial ribbon lake.
The Breakdown
Each lap is 5.2km, with 4.6km of running and 600m of swimming. A potential of 6 laps covering 31.2km of awesome swimrunning.

- Run 2: 4590m
- Swim 2: 300m
Unlike our Eliminator events in Liverpool & Aberdyfi, this course may favour the runners with only 11.5% swimming. This ratio is similar to that of the OtillO World Championship course.

Terrain
Apart from the two swim exit points (very short sections of trail), the running is generally on hard surface (paving/tarmac) and is fairly flat, with some small undulations.
For the 2026 course we have eliminated the busy road sections!

We will be based at The Tyn Y Cornel Hotel, LL36 9AJ.
Our recommended camping is Dol Einion Campsite, a great place to stay. For more comfortable options try the stunning Tyn Y Cornel Hotel.

I just think Tal Y Llyn Swimrun is the essence of what swimrun is about. Journeying through a beautiful part of nature by land and water.
It hit home when I took the dogs part of the way up Cadair Idris and looked back on the glacial lake, and had a real 'this is it' moment.
