The Dyfi 13km Swim
First held as a race in 2017, this is a very special point to point tidal swim journey from coast to mountain, sea to river. At 13km this is the longest estuary swim race in the UK.
Note it is significantly harder than The Hurly Burly and Dart 10K swims. A minimum swim speed of 3.2km/h is required.

Beat The Tide 4KM Swim
SIMPLY THE BEST!
It's not really about beating the tide, it's about working the tide! Simply the best 4km swim.
Peter took part in Beat The Tide 4km, 2023, and kindly emailed in his thoughts on the challenge:
"I am 41 and have had a desk job and otherwise been sedentary for the last 20 years. Entering and training for a 4km swim to meet the race requirements has been a heady mix of rewarding, challenging, fun and somewhat life changing.
I've made friends at local outdoor swimming lakes, lost weight, improved flexibility, ... I realised about a month ago that I was going to be able to complete the swim which meant that I was able to relax and really enjoy the training and subsequently the race. I had a super time on the day which has really come across on the photos.
I'll be swimming with you again as soon as I can. I have started training for a long swim and am really hoping a 2024 Dyfi 13km will be a thing.
Thanks again for organising and putting together such an enjoyable day."

Charity Fundraising
The coffee & cake morning hosted by Dovey Yacht Club on 1st Oct, raised £708 for Macmillan Cancer Support, thank you for helping to make it such a successful morning.
All finishers of the Dyfi 13km received a hand painted rock made by the team from Aberdovey Rock Shop. 100% of their work is dedicated to the fundraising efforts of local woman Jan Jeffrey who is currently carrying out her charity work in Losotho, Africa - read about Jan's work here. The Dyfi 13km raised £300 towards Jan's charity work.
THE TAFOL TUMBLE 8KM
Starting form Aberdyfi beach swim all the way to a pebbly beach where the River Tafol joins the Dyfi Estuary. Here you will "tumble-turn" and swim back to Aberdyfi, your tumble will coincide with the turning of the tide, more or less! A total of 8km.
We provide expert guiding for small groups on The Tafol Tumble route, and on the "Hurly Burly" route on the Mawddach estuary.
