New for 2026 - Short Chute
This race seems best when women race with men, that's what you've told us anyway. So how could we do this and still make it fair? We have adapted an idea from Super League Triathlon which promises to level the playing field for the women.
We'll have a chat about this on The Swimrun Show Podcast very soon.

Short Chute
In 2026 we're introducing the short chute on run 2 for the female category. This way we can keep the same cut-off times for male & female.
- Male lap is 2.5km (total run: 2km; total swim: 500m)
- Female lap is 2.25km (total run: 1.75km; total swim: 500m)
- Run: 700m
- Swim: 200m
- Run: 900m (male); 650m (female)
- Swim: 300m
- Run: 400m
You will potentially complete 6 laps. Hear all about the first edition of the race with Rhian Roxburgh on the The Swimrun Show Podcast.
Time Per Lap
The cut off time for each lap:
- Lap 1: 26 min
- Lap 2: 24 min
- Lap 3: 22 min
- Lap 4: 20 min
- Lap 5: 18 min
- Lap 6: Now it's an all out race!
If you are not finished within the lap time you will stand down at the end of that lap. If you finished ahead of time then you can rest for the remaining time of that lap.

The Transitions
Both the swim entry points are off pontoons, around 2 feet above the water level. You can jump, or shallow dive - water depth is 2m.
The swim exit for both swims is a concrete ramp that will likely be slippy when wet. It's steeper than your average slipway so take care on exit.

If you have any kit questions just ask. Here's some basics:
- Shoes - wear what you are comfortable running in on hard surfaces
- Wetsuit - up to you, anything goes.
- Hand paddles - first time? Maybe don't bother with them
- Pull buoy - Recommended, but have you practised with one?
- Tow-float - Not required
- Socks - whatever you normally wear when running, or no socks
Keep it simple, and what you are comfortable with.
